What if Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother isn’t her real grandmother? What if her two trueborn grandmothers are both Queens – and one is good, while the other one is evil? Celsia is a ‘Red Hood,’ a healer training under her grandmother in a small village deep in the woods. Life was ordinary and uneventful, until the fateful day when a shocking truth is uncovered – Celsia’s grandmother isn’t her REAL grandmother. Forced to flee her village, Celsia is soon on a quest to seek her two TRUEBORN grandmothers – both powerful Queens of magical kingdoms. Accompanied by her childhood friend Quillon and the cheeky faun Pylus, her first destination is the magical kingdom of Fallinor, which had been destroyed over 60 years ago… or was it?
All uploads done, and heading to Japan!
Hi all! Chapter 15 from Book 3 of "Fabled Kingdom" is now fully uploaded, and sadly, there won't be any more uploads. If you want to finish reading the story, you can buy book 3 from Amazon, Lulu or my webstore (which has free shipping). I'm currently heading off to Japan for 2 weeks, and when I get back, I'm going to start working on my next story, which I've been planning.
Heading off to Adelaide OzCC!
Just a friendly reminder that I'm heading off to Adelaide Oz Comic-Con this weekend as a special guest. I sold out of all my "Fabled Kingdom" books in Perth last weekend, so here's hoping that this weekend will be a good one too. Meanwhile, all 3 "Fabled Kingdom" books are available with FREE SHIPPING on my webstore and as ebooks/print books on Amazon and Smashwords (PDF). After that, I'll be heading off to Japan in April to get a long break, before coming back and getting to work on my next projects and practicing some colouring skills! Lastly, I'm 4 pages away from finishing "Mother and Son", though I need to go back and do some fixes.
Going to Perth tomorrow for OzCC!
Heading off to Perth Oz Comic-Con tomorrow, followed by Adelaide Comic-Con this week. I'll be selling "Fabled Kingdom" v1-3 there, which is also available WITH FREE SHIPPING from my webstore. All this work means that I haven't had time to do much this week, but I only have 7 pages of my short horror story "Mother and Son" to go, so I hope I'll be able to get that all done before I go off to Japan next month in April!
New webstore now open!
I'm going to be a guest at Oz ComicCon Perth/Adelaide from 25/26 Mar and 1/2 April! I'll have "Fabled Kingdom" v3 for sale there, but more excitingly, I have a new webstore set up! You can check out my rather prolific list of books from both publishers and my own self-published work, and you can buy some of it with FREE SHIPPING to Australia and the US! Thank you to all those who have already bought some books - you've proved that the system works and is safely handled via Paypal. I'm about halfway through "Mother and Son", and I'm also prepping my next story and my trip to Japan in April. Super exciting!
Fabled Kingdom v1-3 is out now!
The print/ebook version of "Fabled Kingdom v3" is now available via Amazon and Lulu, which means this series is done for now. That's it, folks, I finally got this story ou tof my system, and after 3 years of working on it, I think I'm ready to unwind and unpack the whole experience. Looking back, there are probably some things I would have done a little differently, but that will have to be all worked out via a longer blog post. For now, I'm going to concentrate on getting "Mother and Son" (a short ghost story) finished, and then start making plans. I've been thinking of doing colour work, so I'm looking at practicing colouring some panels from "Fabled Kingdom" in as a way to start practicing. All after my April vacation to TOKYO, ofcourse...
"Fabled Kingdom" v3 is almost in print!
I just got the print editions of "Fabled Kingdom" v3 in print from Amazon yesterday, and they look good. I think I finally fixed the cutting problem, and I've since approved the books, but they still take 3-5 business days to show up on the store. So, I've only got to wait until next week to update my website links, and do a blog post on the long, long journey of this series.
The print copies of v3 are back!
I've got the print version of "Fabled Kingdom" v3 back from Lulu, and it looks great! I was able to get a good comparison of the pages I inked using a black biro VS the pages done with a fineliner, and I must say the difference is negligible. If it all goes well, I will probably just switch over to inking using biros permanently. Unfortunately, the print version from Createspace Amazon suffered from a weird binding and cutting issue, so while everything from that book seemed good, I've just had to reupload the files because the bleeds might have been missing from the inside binding edge of the file. A stupid mistake, but print-quality wise, the book is fine. Now just waiting for the IngramSpark one...
Chapter 20-21 out in PDF on Smashwords!
The last 2 chapters are now up on Smashwords, where you can buy them for $1.59. The journey has come to a close, everyone, the books are being prepped for print, and I've already got a test book from Lulu in the mail, which will hopefully arrive soon. I'm currently trying to take a break from overwork, but being the way I am, I'll probably run around like a psycho for the rest for the year prepping for my next projects.
